Dr. James Hankins Named 2026 Bradley Prize Winner
The Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education is proud to announce that Dr. James Hankins, Visiting Professor of Humanities, has been named a 2026 Bradley Prize recipient, one of the nation’s most prestigious honors.
Awarded annually by the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, the Bradley Prize recognizes individuals whose work has made a significant and lasting impact on the principles, institutions, and ideas that shape American public life. Recipients are selected from a highly competitive national pool and are honored for their contributions to scholarship, culture, and civic life.
Dr. Hankins is a distinguished scholar of Renaissance humanism and Western intellectual history and has taught at Harvard University for more than four decades. His work explores the intellectual foundations of the West, with particular focus on Renaissance political thought, Platonic philosophy, and the classical tradition.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hankins has been a leading voice in advancing the study of Western civilization and advocating for the importance of classical learning and academic freedom in higher education. His scholarship and teaching have helped shape generations of students and scholars.
