Hamilton’s Department of Strategic Programs and Partnerships develops and manages educational initiatives, partnerships, and outreach programs that advance the Hamilton School’s mission of strengthening civic education and classical learning throughout Florida and beyond.
We collaborate with K–12 schools and districts, colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations, museums, historical societies, state agencies, and philanthropic partners that share an interest in civic education and teacher development.
While the Hamilton School offers academic degree programs and conducts research, Strategic Programs and Partnerships focuses on external engagement—developing professional learning opportunities, statewide initiatives, collaborative projects, and educational resources for educators and institutions.
We currently offer a variety of programs to support K-12 and Community Colleges, including:
• Teacher professional development
• Summer institutes and seminars
• School leadership workshops
• Curriculum development
• Classical education consulting
• Civic education initiatives
• Conferences and symposia
• Collaborative research projects

Absolutely. We work with schools exploring or implementing classical education through professional development, consultation, curriculum guidance, and connections with subject-matter experts. Currently we are working on a first-of-its-kind project to convert a Miami-Dade Public Elementary School to a classical academy. You can learn more about that project here.

Yes. While many initiatives focus on Florida, we also collaborate with regional and national organizations.
Our programs are designed for classroom teachers, instructional coaches, school leaders, curriculum specialists, and higher education faculty interested in strengthening civic education and the humanities.
Our teacher-facing programs are designed to support educators in meeting applicable academic standards while emphasizing primary sources, historical inquiry, civil discourse, and constitutional principles. In programs where Florida teachers are the focus, the material will always be aligned with Florida Benchmarks and Standards.
Many programs provide certificates of participation or professional development credit when applicable. Individual program descriptions will specify available credit.
Many of our instructional materials, guides, and program resources are available through our website, with additional resources added as new initiatives are completed.
As a public institution, the vast majority of our curricular materials are free of charge and do not require attribution. However, there may be times where certain use cases may have limitations. Individual resources will indicate whether they are freely available, require attribution, or are intended for participants in specific programs. We work with organizations to design thoughtful, academically rigorous educational initiatives that bring together leading scholars, experienced educators, and practical implementation strategies. Whether your goal is teacher development, curriculum enhancement, school improvement, or a collaborative grant project, we seek partnerships that produce meaningful and lasting impact.
Our programs combine scholarly excellence with practical application. We emphasize historical inquiry, constitutional literacy, civil discourse, and the enduring ideas that shape free societies while providing educators with classroom-ready strategies and resources.
We are always interested in exploring innovative partnerships. If your project aligns with the Hamilton School’s mission, we encourage you to reach out to discuss how we might work together. Please contact our team at Hamilton-Partnerships@ufl.edu and we will be in touch.
