The War, Statecraft, and Strategy MA equips students to analyze conflict, diplomacy, and military strategy through historical, political, and theoretical lenses. Blending the study of great military thinkers with real-world case studies, the program prepares graduates to navigate complex global challenges and lead in government, defense, policy, and international affairs.

Thematic Field Topics

The WSS PhD degree has four fields: (1) War; (2) Statecraft & Strategy; (3) Theory & Structure; (4) Regional Geographic Area.  Students must take 3 topics courses in their primary field and at least 2 in their secondary field.
