A Classical, Historical Transformation
on Campus

Soon, the UF Infirmary, a Collegiate Gothic style structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will become the Hamilton School’s new home.
Our Future Home:

The UF Infirmary

With the generous support of Governor DeSantis and the Florida legislature, the Hamilton School’s future home—the historic UF Infirmary—will be a space that reflects our mission: reviving timeless ideas for today’s world. In partnership with the State of Florida, we’re preserving the original structure while preparing it to serve a new generation. It’s a meaningful restoration—and a sign of our commitment to using public resources wisely.

A Design Rooted in the Past,

Built for the Future

Inspired by the architecture of the Federalist period, the design brings a cleaner, more modern take on America’s founding style. Natural wood and warm light take the place of metal and glass, creating a space that feels both historic and fresh. As with our curriculum, the goal is to take something enduring and make it come alive for today.

A Place to Gather,

Think, and Engage

This building is made for conversation and community. Like the residential colleges at Oxford and Cambridge, it will offer spaces where people want to be—reading rooms, seminar halls, lounges, and quiet corners. It’s designed to invite students to linger, learn, and engage deeply with one another.

Illumination,

in Every Sense

Light is central—both physically and symbolically. The Infirmary will be a bright, open place that encourages clarity, curiosity, and leadership. Thanks to the Florida Legislature and the renowned architects behind the Bush Presidential Library and Harvard’s Widener Library, this building will be a shining example of learning for years to come.
