Charles T. Canady

Director Canady brings more than forty years of public service across all three branches of government. He has served on the Florida Supreme Court since 2008, including three terms as Chief Justice, and is widely respected for his thoughtful jurisprudence and steady leadership.

Prior to his judicial career, Director Canady served in both the Florida House of Representatives (1984–1990) and the U.S. House of Representatives (1993–2001). In Congress, he was a member of the House Judiciary Committee and chaired the Subcommittee on the Constitution for three terms. He later served as General Counsel to Governor Jeb Bush and was appointed to the Second District Court of Appeal in 2002.
