Daniel Maxwell

Daniel Maxwell works as an AI consultant in the Research Computing department at the University of Florida. He is the department’s designated liaison to the humanities across campus as well as the Hamilton AI Lab. As a liaison, he provides support and guidance on applying machine learning techniques to advance our understanding of truth. In 2025, Dan became a senior fellow in Microsoft’s inaugural AI and Economy Institute (AIEI) cohort. He also authored chapter 5 of the institute’s first book, Degrees of Change: What AI Means for Education and the Next Generation. With more than 35 years of technology experience in both business and academic settings, Dan brings a unique perspective to present-day conversations about AI, its social impact and ethical application. Current Project

The Hamilton AI Lab is a new collaborative initiative between the Hamilton School, the George A. Smathers Libraries, and UFIT Research Computing. As technical lead, Dan provides support for the lab’s technical work, including the development of AI-powered research tools to support Hamilton faculty.
