Richard Blake serves as an Academic Advisor here at the Hamilton School. In this role, he guides students through academic pathways and co-curricular opportunities that enrich their collegiate journeys, fostering both intellectual growth and personal development.

A proud first-generation college graduate, he holds a B.A. in Anthropology, an M.Ed., and an Ed.S. in Counselor Education with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, all from the University of Florida. With over a decade of experience supporting UF students, he has worked across diverse programs and initiatives to ensure students receive comprehensive, holistic support. His approach centers on active listening, relationship-building, and co-creating opportunities tailored to each student’s unique strengths, aspirations, and challenges.

In previous roles, he collaborated with campus partners to host annual National First-Generation College Student Day celebrations, launched peer mentoring opportunities, and created programs to support students experiencing difficulties inside and outside the classroom. Through these initiatives, he has helped strengthen community connections, promote a sense of belonging, and remove barriers to student success.
