Documents of Democracy is a teacher-focused, grant-funded initiative that aims to promote teaching with primary sources. In partnership with the Center of Civic Education, the Hamilton School has developed several tools to aid teachers at all levels expose their students to the value of primary sources.
This site provides educators with the Documents of Democracy Primary Source Toolkit, as well as Florida classroom-ready lesson plans. Other instructional resources designed to support thoughtful, inquiry-based teaching of American history and civics are being developed as the three-year grant proceeds. Additional materials and resources will be added as they are developed, so please check back often.
